Date Day

Kyle and I enjoyed a different kind of date on Friday - one that happened in the middle of the day! Kyle took the day off and I had my regular Friday sitter for Reese while Caden was in school. We took the opportunity to go to the Szechenyi Baths in City Park here in Budapest. The thermal bath, built in 1913, is the largest medicinal spa complex in Europe. Renovations have happened over the last century, but you can still see how beautiful it was in its early days.

We were the youngest people there by at least 40 years! The baths are quite expensive for most Hungarians, but with a doctor's note, everyone in the over-80 crowd goes there practically for free. The medicinal quality of the baths is said to help with degenerative joint ailments, chronic arthritis, and rehabilitation after surgery and trauma.

Despite Kyle's lack of a speedo and my lack of a swim cap, we blended into the background relaxing and talking in the outdoor pools and indoor saunas. It was a great date day!
