Willie, John & The Boys

We spent a wonderful Thursday evening in Atlanta seeing a few iconic musicians on the Dylan-Nelson-Mellencamp U.S. Ballpark tour. We were treated to amazing seats (15th row, center) and steps-from-the-entrance-tailgating by Papa Jack! It was a great gift for both Kyle and me because Lele kept the kids! Uncle Brett and Jack's friend Rob joined us too for some summertime tunes.

As a true Texas gal should, Willie was my favorite performer of the evening. He sounded really great, much better than the last time I heard him in College Station more than 10 years ago! You should see his guns too - pretty good for a guy who is 76 years old. A close second in the performance category was John Mellencamp. He had a lot of energy and has hair like a teenager. He sang "Small Town" and a few other old favorites, but we were highly disappointed we didn't hear "Jack & Diane." Bob Dylan was of course the headliner, but unfortunately we did not know too many of his songs. Let's just say many others around us were excited when Dylan came onstage - you could hear it and smell it (if you know what I mean)...

Thanks for a memorable evening Jack!
